General
The KBSD steam atomizingburner is designed for use onour top-fired
boilers and isdelivered pre-mounted.A dynamic wind-box providesfor
low pressure loss and astable combustion at lowloads. All burner
mountingsare arranged to ensure easyinstallation and maintenance.

Description
The KBSD steam atomizing burner hasbeen designed to meet customer
requirementssuch as high turn-downradio, minimum installation and
operationcosts, and the capability to produceinert gas at low
loads.Furthermore, the burner meets future marineenvironmental
legislation regardingNOx and particulate emissions.
Combustion processes are controlledby adjusting the swirl angle of
the airflow, enchanced by very reliable system
components controlling the fuelair flow. The KBSD burner has passed
arigorous and very extensive testingprogram, proving that the
burner performswell on all grades of fuel oil.
Additionally, the burner design hasmade it possible to achieve
stable combustionwith an excess air ratio ofapprox. 1.15.Safe
ignition of the burner is ensuredby the fixed ignition burner which
isequipped with its own ignition transformer,oil pump and nozzle.
Duringoperation of the main burner, the ignitionburner is purged
with air in order
to prevent coke formation on thenozzle and the electrodes.
